About Myself

I am a Professor in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and also in the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology, at the Queen's University Belfast. I am a member of the Speech and Vision Systems Research Cluster. From 2005-2006 I was a Visiting Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

My research interests include:

  • Speech and signal recognition - modeling, robustness to noise
  • Speech and signal separation and enhancement
  • Speaker and acoustic source identification - modeling, robustness to noise, robustness to channel distortion
  • Audio-visual person idenitification
  • Face recognition and image processing
  • Signal processing and pattern recognition
  • Statistical language modeling
