About Myself

I am a Professor within the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast. I am a member of the Speech and Vision Systems Research Cluster. From 2005-2006 I was a Visiting Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

I am a member of the INTERSPEECH 2009 Organization Committee responsible for Special Sessions.

My research interests include:

o    Speech and signal processing - noise robustness, enhancement, audio-visual processing

o    Acoustic source (e.g. speaker) recognition - robustness to noise, channel effects

o    Statistical language modeling

o    Image processing, image enhancement, face recognition

o    Pattern recognition
